Update on the construction of Paytherden Solar Farm – August 2026
Latest update from Bluefield Development regarding constructions of the Paytherden Solar Farm.
Clyst Hydon is a village and civil parish in the county of Devon, England. It was in the Cliston Hundred and has a church dedicated to St Andrew. The parish is surrounded, clockwise from the north, by the parishes of Cullompton, Plymtree, Payhembury, Talaton, Whimple, Clyst St Lawrence and Broad Clyst. The village is four miles from Cullompton. It has a primary school, Clyst Hydon Primary; other amenities include a pub/restaurant and a sports club. From 1971–74 the village was the site of an artists colony which published the radical Beau Geste Press, a small press that worked in the lineage of the Fluxus and mail art movements.

Clyst Hydon Parish Council have now completed and filed their end of year accounts for 2025-2026. The Notice of Period for exercising public rights is between Monday 8th June and Friday 17th July 2026 - see details below.
April 2026 update from Aura Power regarding Construction timings and road closures in May and June
Horton Solar Farm between Talaton and Whimple is due to start construction soon. Some impact will be felt by Clyst Hydon with construction traffic for the grid connection only going through Clyst Hydon - update from Aura Power below who will provide regular updates going forward.
