Paytherden Solar Farm Update August 2025
August 2025 Update from Bluefield Developments in relation to Paytherden Solar Farm works.
Published: 17 January 2026
On-site works for Paytherden Solar Farm have commenced in July. Bluefield’s site manager is overseeing activities for the first phase of the building work. The construction of the temporary construction compound off Marsh Cross and associated
access has started and is currently underway.
The week commencing 14th July saw the start of the archaeological field work, carried out by the archaeological contractor. The works are undertaken in line with the discharged planning condition by East Devon District Council and meet the Chartered
Institute for Archaeologists’ standard and universal guidance for an archaeological excavation and Devon County Council’s current specification for archaeological excavation. Any finds of interest are coded, recorded and photographed as per the
agreed methods. Bluefield’s project team have reviewed all feedback received at the community information day, held at Clyst Hydon Village Hall on 19 June and attended by around 50 local residents. We have provided answers to questions raised. If you were unable to attend, please have a look at the displayed information boards on our project website
www.paytherdensolarfarm.co.uk.
A draft agreement for the proposed Community Benefit Fund associated with the solar farm has been sent to Clyst Hydon Parish Council and is currently under consideration.
